Jennifer began her career in Federated’s renowned training program at Bloomingdale’s and rose through the ranks in both buying and planning management. After 2 years as a merchant in Women’s Ready-to-Wear, she was promoted to Business Manager, responsible for inventory management, advertising budgets and sales projections for a $500 million dollar business. This role as liaison between the CEO, GMM and the DMMs gave Jennifer the experience and versatility that make her as comfortable training a new planner as she is presenting a financial forecast to a CEO.
After 4 years, Jennifer decided to apply her merchandising background, combined with her analytical skills, to the rapidly emerging retail planning area. As a planner, the areas Jennifer managed saw consistent and impressive growth in sales and margin every season while operating within a strict and disciplined inventory plan. It was in this capacity that she also honed her skills as a teacher, responsible for training new planners.
In 2006, after a brief sabbatical in culinary school, Jennifer was ready to return to the challenging retail world. Drawing upon her experience as a merchant and planning expert, she began consulting other retail and wholesale companies in the industry. Her work with these companies centers around helping clients execute inventory control, open to buy and assortment planning by time frame.
