Giancarlo Portale is an AI strategist and builder who helps businesses cut through the noise of the AI marketplace and put practical, measurable systems into operation. He joins The Grayson Company as a specialist focused on AI strategy and workflow automation, drawing on a combination of founder experience and direct hands-on capability with the tools shaping the current AI landscape.

Giancarlo is the founder of Naviask AI, a platform he built to help businesses identify which AI tools and workflows fit their specific operations, pain points, and budget. Through that work he has built a deep library of patterns around how AI actually creates value in real business operations – and where it doesn’t.

His expertise includes AI strategy and roadmapping, workflow automation, agentic AI systems, large language model integration, and the embedding of AI into existing business intelligence and analytics environments. He works across sectors including retail, professional services, and non-profit, and is particularly focused on identifying the manual and mechanical work that AI can offload – freeing experienced people to focus on the judgment and strategy their clients are actually paying for.

Giancarlo has completed advanced AI programs at MIT and Northwestern Kellogg School of Management, with focus areas in machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and AI applications in business strategy. He is based in Darien, Connecticut.
