We are pleased to announce that The Grayson Company is now the exclusive representative for Cartoloji, for all licensing opportunities including apparel, accessories and home furnishings.
Bhaval Shah Bell, the founder and creative director for Cartoloji comments “I am thrilled to partner with The Grayson Company…their team has incredible expertise and knowledge in retail and licensing and I am so excited about their plan to build a global brand for Cartoloji that allows my map designs to be accessible to all.”
Cartoloji is the brainchild of artist Bhaval Shah Bell. Bhaval’s art has received acclaim in The Washington Post and Cartoloji products have been featured extensively in the national media including Coastal Living, Everyday with Rachael Ray, The Huffington Post, Refinery 29, and Design Milk.
Bhaval started painting abstract map art in 2005 when she and her husband were living in Philadelphia’s Loft District. A painting she had hanging in the loft attracted a lot of attention from friends. One commission led to another and soon she found herself painting almost full time. She now lives in Washington, D.C. where she established Cartoloji to turn her art into prints, pillows, and more.
Of Indian descent, Bhaval was born in Kenya where she lived until she was 19. She moved to the UK to study Neuroscience and attained a PhD at the University of Cambridge. Bhaval continued her studies as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University in New Haven, CT, followed by a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry.
Through her own multicultural background, Bhaval knows that individuals relate powerfully to maps of places that are important to them. Cartoloji creates iconic abstract map-art that speaks to one’s love of place, heritage, or travels.
Bhaval Shah Bell will be presenting her original works of art on a road show throughout the United States this year.
