Terri Hamilton
Terri began her career at Ann Taylor, a specialty chain of 20 stores at that time. Through expansion into new markets, Terri developed new managerial positions within the organization and became the first Area Manager, District Manager, and Regional Manager spanning a growth period of 7 years.
In 1988 Terri became Visual Director and created a comprehensive visual merchandising strategy that moved the company to one consistent standard of presentation. She headed the corporate expansion program opening up to 30 stores per year. Terri developed and designed interior fixtures and furnishings for 3 divisions: Ann Taylor Stores, Loft, and Studio, collaborating with architects and outside design firms on new concepts.
Terri joined the Ralph Lauren organization in 1995 as Director of Merchandising, Marketing & Creative Services. She created new strategic direction for visual merchandising, developed training tools and expanded the creative service department to a staff of 20 with a $4 million budget.
After Polo Ralph Lauren became a public company in 1997, Terri became the first Director of New stores to lead the retail expansion for 3 divisions of the corporation.
Terri formed her own visual merchandising and retail consultancy in 1998. Terri has provided services such as competitive research, visual direction for brands, commercial interiors, product layout and merchandising guidelines, styling, and coordination of all aspects of store openings. Her clients cross all categories from fashion apparel to accessories, intimate apparel, home furnishings, beauty, and sports.
